2007/2008 Theater Crew
- Kuumba Theater Class
- This class is an introduction to the world of acting. We will cover voice/breath work, character development, and physical movement. This will be accomplished through exploration of various acting techniques, theater games, improvisation and discussion. You will also be introduced to the fundamentals of the rehearsal process and script analysis.This is going to be an exciting & fun year the only requirements are, the willingness to try new things, and an open mind.
{Come Prepared to Work}
Clothing: You should wear loose fitting clothes to every class; clothes in which you can move freely. Avoid wearing tight fitting jeans.
- No gum
- No eating in class
- No listening to iPod or reading materials unrelated to class
- Bring all writing or reading materials needed for class
- Students may leave class only by permission of instructor
Keep rehearsal and performance spaces clean.

The Kuumba Project
The mission of the Kuumba Project is to train youth and challenge participants to excel artistically and promote positive visionary thinking and excellence. “Kuumba” which means creativity, is the very core and essence of the “Kuumba Project,” a powerful key that stimulates the mind and unleashes the imagination and like the guiding principle, "encourages us, to do as much as we can in the way we can, in order to leave our community more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited it."
